The Hansons

A night of Slap Shot jokes and antidotes.

Christian Hanson, the son of one of the notorious Hanson brothers, scored his first NHL goal to help the Leafs bury the Devils.

Another strong performance by Martin Gerber in net. Just wish we had half decent goaltending back in November.

Pineapple Power

The refs came out and sent a message. They like the Habs better. As a result the dirty, dirty habs got 3 powerplay goals.

Since the Habs are deadly afraid of Grabovski, the refs gave him boarding, slashing and roughing minors and a 10 minute misconduct to make sure he was rarely on the ice.

I am looking forward to the Bruin’s destroying the Hab in the first round.

CCCP1 Line

In order to make games more exciting as the season wears down, coach Ron Wilson has been placing the team in different situations to gain valuable experience for next year. For this game against the dirty, dirty Flyers, Toronto gave then a 6 goal lead. Such a lead tested the character of the Maple Leafs to continue to still play hard and try to win. The boys came through! The USSR line of Kulemin, Ponikarovsky and Grabovski combined for 5 points. If you take away the 5 goal first period (our mulligan for the season) then the final score was Toronto 5 – DirtyPhilly 3. See, we did win!

Can’t Stop a Beachball

The beach ball was correct as Biron couldn’t one. The Leafs capitalized to build a 3-1 lead going into the third thanks to a great game by Ian White. In the 3rd period Cujo came through with some great saves in the final moments to solidify the defeat of Phiily. We beat them and we beat them good! Woohaa!

Justin Pogge Pog

It was pog night at the ACC as young goaltending talent Justin Pogge stepped between the pipes. Unfortunately, there were some deflected shots that resulted in goals and the young goaltender lost his game and was pulled in favour of Cujo.

The Leafs managed to put 5 pucks behind Boston Bruins backup goaltender Manny Fernandez with goals by Alexei Ponikarovsky (2), Nikolai Kulemin, John Mitchell and Niklas Hagman.
