Jim Balsillie is continuing his quest to own a NHL team and bring that team to Canada. On one hand, it would be eggcellent to have another team in Canada and does bring a bit of retribution for Winnipegg and Queggbec. On the other hand, it means alienating the fans of Phoenix and giving the NHL a black eye in America. Does the NHL really want Canada taking a pro-sport team from America, not eggactly the best plan for Gary Bettman and his failing quest to promote NHL hockey south of the border.
The other problem I have with Jim Balsillie is that he wants the taxpayer to pick up the tab for upgrades to the facilities that will house his cash cow. Is this another case of Screw You Tax Payer!? Seems to me, the best way to make everyone happy to have league expansion and give Southern Ontario a second NHL franchise. Otherwise, we could see many people with egg on their face.
